Dear Mr. Ayers,
My name is Thomas Kempf, I was a proud student at CJMS, and am now a senior at BHS. I am currently working on my senior project with a classmate and would love to have the opportunity to present some of the information we have learned throughout our research to your students.
For our senior project we researched the effects of smoking on the human body. As an extension for our project we thought it would be worthwhile to come in to CJ and get the information out on just how bad cigarettes are for us. I understand that there are already programs going around at CJ promoting staying tobacco-free; however, I feel our project will be more fun and interactive with the students. What we had in mind was to to set up a booth, in an area where there is plenty of space, and a lot of people pass by. We would like to entice them to come to our booth via candy, and afterwards give them some interesting facts about cigarettes, as well as share stories from what we have seen in our years of highschool involving cigarettes.
I believe that allowing us to set up, and share what we have learned with the kids at CJ will have a larger impact on the kids, rather than teaching them the same stuff we have always learned throughout the years in health class.
We would love to be able to come to your school on April 30th from twelve to two.
Sincerely,
Thomas Kempf
